THE MONTEREY MOTEL
The Monterey Motel has been part of Route 66’s story since 1946. Its founder, Norman Bugg, saw the promise of the “Mother Road” and welcomed travelers with local hospitality as they made their way along the iconic route. In 2019, PacifiCap helped bring the motel back to life, turning the once-struggling drive-up property into the gem it is today.
The renovation keeps the mid-century modern vibe the motel is known for, with 15 updated rooms, 19 new rooms and luxury suites, an executive lounge, a refreshed resort-style pool, and a cocktail lounge. With its mix of historic charm and modern comforts, “MOMO” now offers a welcoming, vibrant stop for visitors exploring Albuquerque and the legendary Route 66.
