The Buckley pays homage to Martha Buckley, the wife of Oliver Lent, who founded the historic Lents neighborhood of Southeast Portland. The project combines a historical renovation and seismic upgrade of a three-story brick and clay tile building constructed in 1910 with a new five-story steel and wood building that wraps the property.

The Buckley includes a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom units, as well as three expansive two-story lofts. The project’s façade features a combination of brick rainscreen, metal panels, Spanish-style stucco, large storefronts, and oversized windows. Its interiors showcase stunning modern finishes, abundant natural light, and energy-efficient materials. The building also offers a basement tenant lounge, bike room, amenity spaces, and retail spaces.

As part of construction, PacifiCap self-performed the deconstruction of adjacent existing buildings, lowering of the existing basement, lumber reclamation, and finish carpentry.
